Mourning the loss of our Tuhoe comradeKua hinga he totara i te wao nui a Tane. E Tuhoe, haere haere haere atu ra. Haere ki Hawaiki-nui, ki Hawaiki-roa, ki Hawaiki-pamamao. The death of Tuhoe Lambert, defendant in the Urewera ‘terror raids’ case, is cause for immense sadness and grieving for his whanau and friends, the October 15th Solidarity group, the defendants in the case, and for supporters around the country. Tuhoe was an incredibly generous, funny and courageous man. His family is from Lake Waikaremoana; he served in the New Zealand army in Vietnam and has spent the last few years living in Manurewa with his wife of 40 years and his extended family. Tuhoe was a fierce advocate of tino rangatiratanga and Te Mana Motuhake o Tuhoe. We miss you already, comrade.
